Privacy Policy for Wow Drive Ltd
Last Updated: April 29, 2026
At WOW Drive, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring your personal information is handled safely and transparently. This policy explains how we collect, use, and share your data when you use our services or inquire about driving lessons.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that allows us to provide you with driving tuition and manage your bookings. This includes:
Contact Details: Name, address, email address, and phone number.
Driving Details: Information regarding previous history and test bookings
Availability: Your preferred times and dates for lessons.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your information to:
Match you with a suitable driving instructor in your area.
Manage lesson scheduling and administrative tasks.
Communicate updates regarding your lessons or account.
Comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
3. Sharing Data with Instructors
WOW Drive operates as a franchise/agency model. Please be aware of the following regarding your data:
Important: Our driving instructors are self-employed professionals. When you submit a lead or inquiry through the Wow Drive office, we will pass your personal details (name, contact info, and location) to the specific instructor assigned to your area so they can contact you to arrange your tuition.
Once your data is passed to a self-employed instructor, they become a joint data controller of that information. They are required to handle your data in accordance with current Data Protection legislation and solely for the purpose of providing driving lessons.
3a. Independent Responsibility of Instructors
While WOW Drive facilitates the initial connection between you and your instructor, it is important to understand the following regarding data responsibility:
Independent Controllers: Once an instructor receives your lead details, they act as an independent “Data Controller.” This means they are personally responsible for how they store and use your information on their own devices (phones, tablets, or paper diaries).
Purpose Limitation: Instructors are contractually bound to use your data only for the purpose of providing driving tuition and related administrative tasks (such as booking tests). They are prohibited from using your data for unrelated marketing or sharing it with third parties.
Data Security: Instructors are required to maintain their own security measures to ensure your contact details and license information are kept private and secure.
Direct Requests: If you wish to have your data deleted from an instructor’s personal records after you have finished your lessons, you should make that request directly to the instructor, as WOW Drive does not have direct access to their private storage systems.
4. Data Security
Your privacy is built into how we work. Since we primarily communicate through encrypted platforms like WhatsApp, your contact details primarily stay on our secure mobile devices and are never shared, sold, or stored in large external databases
5. Data Retention
Following the successful completion of your driving test, your departure from the school, or an extended period of account inactivity (typically exceeding 90 days without active lesson bookings), Wow Drive operates a strict data minimization policy. Personal data, including text history, contact information, and training logs held on central databases and instructor mobile devices, is routinely and securely purged once it is no longer required for active operational tracking, safety auditing, or mandatory financial record-keeping. While Wow Drive Ltd mandates and routinely reviews these strict data-cleansing protocols across its franchise network, the secure management and deletion of local text or chat histories on individual mobile devices remains the direct operational responsibility of your designated self-employed instructor.”
6. Your Rights
Under data protection laws, you have the following rights:
Access: You can request a copy of the data we hold about you.
Correction: You can ask us to fix inaccurate information.
Erasure: You can ask us to delete your data (subject to legal retention requirements).
Withdrawal of Consent: You can opt-out of marketing communications at any time.

8. Instructor Data Protection Addendum
This section applies specifically to the relationship between the Pupil and the Individual Self-Employed Instructor.
As self-employed franchisees of WOW Drive, instructors act as independent Data Controllers for the information they hold on their pupils. By engaging a WOW Drive instructor, the pupil acknowledges the following privacy terms:
A. Information Held by the Instructor
In addition to the leads provided by the office, the instructor may collect:
Progress records and mock test results.
Records of payments made directly to the instructor.
Dashcam footage (for safety and insurance purposes—see below).
Pick-up and drop-off location history.
B. Use of Dashcams
For the safety of both the pupil and the instructor, vehicles may be fitted with dashcams.
Internal/External Recording: Most cameras record external footage only; however, some may record audio or internal video.
Purpose: Footage is used solely for insurance claims, incident review, or as a teaching aid.
Storage: Footage is typically overwritten within 24–72 hours unless required for an active insurance claim or legal inquiry.
C. Communication Standards
Instructors agree to use pupil contact details (phone, WhatsApp, or email) strictly for:
Confirming or rescheduling lessons.
Sharing educational resources or feedback.
Reminding pupils of upcoming theory or practical tests.
Prohibition: Instructors are strictly forbidden by the WOW Drive Code of Conduct from using pupil data for personal reasons or marketing third-party services.
D. Termination of Services
Upon passing your driving test or ceasing lessons with the instructor:
The instructor will archive your records for the period required by HMRC (typically 5–7 years). They will also routinely do minimilization of data purges of their mobile devices.
You may request that the instructor deletes your contact details from their mobile phone or digital devices once the professional relationship has ended.
